I thought I’d kick the week off by sharing some of my new favorite fabric, Washi!
I’ve put together a fat quarter bundle of 8 different prints from my stash. I am absolutely smitten with this fabric! It’s so modern and bright. I hope you like it too!

I’d love to win those fabrics because aside from the natural way they blend together, they include gray. I have started collecting a few gray pieces lately because it is a color that is completely out of my comfort zone, but I really like some of the modern quilts I see online these days. Oh, these are just gorgeous! I really want to make a dress of the grey with bright triangles, but obviously need more than fat quarters for that. With fat quarters, I think I’d probably make a bag or maybe use them toward a baby quilt for a friend who’s expecting soon!

The first thing I would do is take it to work with me so I could stare and pet it every so often until I finally decide to cut up the triangle print to make a pleated clutch and use another print (the tape?) for a wallet. The the remaining will be used as future collars, plackets, pockets, contrasting hems for clothing for myself or my nieces. Delightful!
Those triangles are so inspiring! And triangles are a current obsession for me when it comes to quilting…

I LOVE that fabric! I would make coasters and a needle book, and probably a pin cushion.
I would make a pieces handbag or a clutch for my daughter who is working so hard in Veterinary School right now!
Wow I have not seen this range anywhere in NZ. I am think of a quilt with strips placed on it like they were masking tape, with the ends zigzag cut like it has been through the tape dispenser.

Lately I’ve been using my smaller pieces of fabric to make gift bags (to replace paper & foil gift wrapping and small plastic bags) and stuffies for all the babies my friends are having.
I love these! Definitely would be part of a happy quilt for my guest room/study.

I love these fabrics, so modern and fresh.
I would love to make a few cushions for my kitchen with this or maybe a book/tote bag or a knitting needle and hook wrap or case. Too many ideas…..too little time.

I will make charming pillows for daughter’s dorm room when she starts college this fall (she will especially like one with a patchwork fox appliqued on the fern and leaves pattern). Also, a set of quilted nesting boxes from Zaka Style (what can I say, I’m a fan, I love this gal’s aesthetic). I hope I win, because this girl has worked very hard to go to live the dream in a dorm at a liberal arts college.
