Sewing Summit :: Sewing With Leather Class

Tomorrow begins registration for Sewing Summit 2013.   It’s only 8 weeks away!

I will be teaching a lecture and a hands on class for Sewing With Leather.

I wanted to share the pictures and description in the event you are interested in this class!

I will be offering the lecture and tote pattern for purchase after Sewing Summit for those unable to attend.

Lecture :: Sewing With Leather
In the first of this two-session class, we will learn tools, tips, techniques and troubleshooting to get you on your way to using leather in your sewing projects.   Leather not only adds durability to your handbags and accessories but also adds a professional and polished look.   We will start with the different types of leather and where to source all the way to caring for the finished product.   You will walk away with inspiration and know-how to add a little bit of luxury to your handmade goods.
Hands On :: Sewing With Leather
In the second session we will take the knowledge we acquired and use it to make a tote bag.  In this class we will be working with suede and will learn three ways to use the leather on one handbag.    The techniques we cover will take a simple tote bag and turn it into a bag that gets noticed!

I love sewing with leather and am really excited to share!!

Stash Match + Cosmetics Bag pattern

A few random things:

Stash Match!  My friend Ali created a fun concept for a game.  She gives an inspiration photo to several bloggers and has them pull fabric from their stash inspired by the picture.    She jumbles up the pictures and a photo of each blogger and you try and match the stash to the person.    I’m a part of July’s Stash Match and my hint is my picture location!  If you read along here you’ll know which one is mine. 🙂

Anyone can participate, so if you have a blog and want to do a month of Stash Match, send Ali an email!

• Cosmetics Bag pattern at Pellon!  I totally spaced on sharing the link to my pattern for this roll-up vinyl cosmetics bag.   You can find the pattern here.

Also, Google Reader is now officially no more. 😦  I’m rather sad about this, it was my favorite way to read blogs and keep up!

I’ve added a link to the top of the page if you’d like to follow along now through Bloglovin’.   It’s a very similar reader to Google.    I love readers because otherwise I get overwhelmed by all the blogs I like to follow and I forget to ‘check in’!

Hope you’re having a good start to the week!

Clutch Crazy

Surprise, more clutches.

Am I boring you yet?   I promise to make something else soon.

I joined on to sell handbags and wallets at the Beehive Atlanta starting mid-October, so I’m stock piling to fill my little space.

Now it’s on to wallets while I also play nurse to my little one.

She had her tonsils out and it’s been a rough recovery.  Poor babe!  It’s hard not being able to help your babies when they hurt.  I’ll be so happy when she is healed and feeling good again.

(Although I will miss all the ice cream we have in the house, ha!)

I gotta crack the whip at myself and get back to work.  Coke break is over. 😉

Hope you’re having a great week!  Lindsey

Fold Over Clutch addiction…

These are seriously so fast and rewarding to make.

I made another in fabric from my current favorite collection, Indie by Pat Bravo.

Love the colors.  I have a Washi tunic for me planned out of what’s left of this print.

I need to share the Washi I made on Friday, it’s a really great pattern too!

Thank you all for the nice comments on the previous clutch.

I give stitching credit to my walking foot, it is a miracle worker!

Happy Labor Day, Lindsey
